Technology Plan in Brief


Vision for Technology
21st Century Learning Skills will be an integral part of transforming our thinking and practice. Technology will serve as a vehicle of change for all the members of the school community. Students will be engaged to learn actively and meet challenges that call on their creativity. Teachers will facilitate learning through innovative systems and technologies. Parents will have virtually limitless resources to support their children's learning. Administrators and Stakeholders will see student achievement improve, teaching practices updated and perfected and the school moving toward the 21st Century.


Implementation of 21st Century Skills

  • Inform the School Community
  • Hold Professional Development sessions with teachers and administrators to help integrate 21st Century Skills into the curriculum.
  • Work with the curriculum coordinator to revise the current curriculum to include 21st Century Themes.
  • Develop Power Standards, School-wide Rubrics & Checklists to help with the day-to-day implementation of the 21st Century Skills.


Technology Requirements

  • Evaluate and revise current online tools and systems.
  • Create a storehouse of lists of relevant resources via social bookmarking systems.
  • Ensure private file access to school community in order to observe copyright laws.
  • Work with teachers in the use of digital grading systems, course builders, blogs, wikis and Google tools


Teacher PD Courses Required for Effective Implementation

  • Offer basic computer skills per software package (All teachers must meet the ISTE NETS requirements for teachers)
  • Train lead teachers to assist in technology integration and serve as ambassadors within their area
  • Develop task design courses to include technology use and resources (This ensures that the Technology Grade Expectations are being met)
  • Creation and use of the storehouse of relevant resources
  • Creation and use of the gallery of exemplary activities
  • Creation and use of the online teacher academic community (via ning or diigo)
